What gets you out of bed in the morning?

If you’re reading this, obviously the call of training gets you out of bed each day but what is it that motivates you to set your alarm, wake up at the crack of dawn (or what sometimes feels like the middle of the night) and how can you make it easier on yourself to haul your butt up each day?

  1. Start your prep the night before. Organise ALL your meals for the following day. Make sure you know what you are going to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner and prep what you can to make it as easy as possible the next day
  2. Mentally prep yourself (again starting the night before)
  3. Set your alarm and COMMIT to getting up with it. If you tend to be a snoozer put the alarm out of reach so that you have to get out of bed to turn it off (hopefully your partner is also rising early with you)
  4. Have a ritual or routine and stick to it every day- it ensures you never forget anything and there are no surprises
  5. DO what you LOVE! If you are constantly having negative internal dialogue around heading to training EITHER Flip it on it’s head and find the positives in why you’re doing it OR Change it! You will never get the results you’re looking for if you’re battling negativity all the time
  6. Have someone to meet when you get there- You might have a regular boxing partner whom you never want to let down or somebody who challenges you to keep up with them on a trail run. You will find your training far more enjoyable when you make those connections with others who are facing the same morning as you!

Luckily for you, at Evo we can help you with most of the above. If you have any questions about your mental, physical or social prep for sessions please don’t ever hesitate to ask. If we can help you to make your morning even more amazing then we will ALL be laughing our way to SUMMER!
