As a valued Evo member it will be second nature to get a reminder text on a Sunday to see when you will be joining us for the preceding week. You will be accustomed to a check in if you miss a session and you will feel special when we remember your birthday.

That phone call to check in on you when you’ve been AWOL for a few days/weeks and of course your valued Friday Wrap remind you that not only are you a part of an awesome group of people who rise at the same time each day but that each one of you belong to a community, many may call it a family of likeminded people that care when you’re sick, injured, have a weight loss goal or are sticking to a challenge (is July the longest month ever?!)

You see we work hard to help you stay accountable to your goals, to help you train harder, get stronger, rise out of bed on the coldest of mornings and are there waiting for you on the darkest days.

The shortest day of this year has come and gone, we are also officially past the half way mark of winter and from here on in we count down the weeks until spring. Winter training typically has a natural attrition however you are still trucking on, you’ve made the commitment to see the winter out, to start the spring one step ahead of the rest and to head for the next summer feeling healthy, happy, energized, fit and strong. Can you imagine it any other way?

We believe that winter is the best time of year to stick to your guns and weather the storm. Any old person can train outdoors in the summer time when the sun is up before the roosters and the average 6am temperature is a balmy 18 degrees. It takes the most resilient, the most stubborn and the most dedicated to train through these trying months. If you were dedicated enough to train on Wednesday this week, you’ll know EXACTLY WHY we keep doing what we do.

So next time you get a cheeky text checking in with your sleep in, read it as a voice of love, support and encouragement rather than feeling like a nag or burden. We care how fit and healthy you are, we care how hot you want to look at the beach this summer and we care that you aren’t there to lap up this incredible view…
