You Move Me

How do we give back?

  • For us it has always been about more than the training. We want to make a difference in the world. We do this through our you move me project by donating prosthetic limbs to amputees in Bolivia through a partnership with a charity in La Paz.

  • As trainers, we create movement on a daily basis for people lucky enough to be able to move freely. So creating a give back project that helps those less fortunate to regain their movement resonates so strongly with us. Yet it is about so much more than movement for those we help. It is about pride, dignity and the right to work and earn a living to support their families.

How does it work?

  • Once you start training with us, you will join a KLIK (group). Each 4 week timetable, your group sets a target number of total sessions to attend. If the group hits the target, it triggers a donation by evolution to the charity. So all you have to do is commit to the sessions you say you will attend. Nothing more, nothing less. Just create consistent movement for yourself and in doing so, you create movement and give freedom to another less fortunate.

  • How empowering for all of us to know that each time our clients make the commitment to get out of bed and come down to a session rain or shine that they are giving the freedom of movement to somebody who otherwise would go without.

How big a difference does it make?

  • The amazing thing is, that just by our training community staying committed to our training, we can donate enough funds to cover the charities current annual budget of 25k USD so we can make a massive difference.

  • The charity we work with in Bolivia is a very basic operation run by volunteers using basic technologies to create prosthetic limbs. Yvonne the centre manager is a school teacher, volunteering at the clinic and doubles up as the physiotherapist. The prosthetic limbs are rudimentary constructions made with nuts and bolts but they do the job.

There is a beautiful saying attributed to Ghandi that inspires us:

“Be the change you wish to see in the world”

And now, people in a remote South American Country are walking, moving and laughing again because of that inspiration and change; that is an incredible privilege.
