Love Handles, Pot Belly or Muffin Tops are just a few of the friendly names we have given to the lovely accumulation of the spare tyre hanging around our waistline. If you’ve got them, you’re forever adjusting your clothes to cover them up and then when you do it just accentuates how much you’re trying to hide away, it’s a lose:lose situation. If you’re lucky enough to avoid them… then just be grateful and keep working hard to stave them off!

I’ve recently read an article by Dr Mercola who is an alternative medicine proponent that concedes there is more to losing belly weight than eating well and doing a thousand crunches a day. Of course a clean diet and regular exercise certainly help form the basis of a svelte physique but sometimes no matter how much you bust you guts trying to lose weight it just doesn’t seem to fall off.

His chart below highlights the often neglected sides to weight loss that you may not even realize has an impact on your efforts

If you are unsure how your sleeping and breathing habits affect your ability to lose body fat and tighten up the mid section then take a look at the article itself.

Essentially, everything that happens within our day has some kind of hormonal effect on our body, whether it be stress and lack of sleep impacting our cortisol levels, sugar impacting your insulin release or the exercise induced euphoria you get from the balance between adrenalin and serotonin release. The sooner you understand (and make the changes) how to create a healthy hormonal balance and what can stand in your way you will come to understand how to optimize your fatloss and your belly fat will practically melt away.

Of course if you need some extra help with this or just don’t know where to start try your Evo trainer who can help guide you in the right direction.
