The art of being present is being lost in communication and it begs a question… How will the next generation of little humans know how to effectively interact with one another in a mindful and wholesome way? Will they even know how to or feel comfortable looking people in the eye when they are speaking to them?
We hear a lot about mindfulness and the effect it can have on our mental AND physical health. BUT… do you practice it regularly? Do you even acknowledge it is important?
A little exercise for when you feel like you are a little foggy, caught up in the hype of life and need to bring your attention back into your own body.
Sit or stand still and acknowledge around you;
5 things you can SEE
5 things you can HEAR
AND
5 things you can FEEL
You might find the first few times you try it that you have trouble coming up with all 5. It’s like mastering a full push-up. The first time you might only get one out, try again tomorrow and you may be able to manage 3. Before you know it, with a little practice it will be easy to be aware of what is happening around you in your world. Acknowledge it, see it, hear it and feel it.
