Well of course you don’t have to try very hard because that world is your reality at Evolution to Wellbeing. Have you ever wondered why we place such an importance on the Sunday text and hence that check-in when you are absent from your committed session?
During a recent study at Virginia Polytechnic University in the USA researchers divided people starting a walking program into two groups.
Every week each individual in one group got a phone call asking how their exercise program was coming along whilst the other group got no calls.
At the end of 24 weeks, 45% of the individuals who got the phone calls were still walking compared to just 2% who did not receive calls!
The results show that weekly accountability can increase the likelihood of sticking to your exercise program by 2200%!
With the cooler weather here to stay for at least a couple of months and perhaps the odd wet morning on the cards it is inevitable that the doona monster will be calling your name a few times in the foreseeable future. However, knowing that your klik members and your trainer will all be there at 6am supporting you through your training session should be enough of a reason for you to fight those demons. If not and you succumb to the voices, press snooze and stay in the comforts of your bed, know that the friendly text you receive in the next hour or 2 is not so much a nag simply a reminder of the fact that your health and wellbeing is important to us and we hope even more so to you.
Accountability is KING! If you need help staying accountable with anything else in your life- nutrition, finance, stress management it may be worthwhile making an agreement with someone to check in on you daily/weekly/monthly just to make sure you are headed for that 2200% success rate!
