Many of us on the healthier side of the spectrum are still forking out bucket loads of money each year on health practitioners to ‘fix us’ when often all we need to do is adopt a few natural therapies into our daily rituals.
Here are 9 natural therapies to add into your daily rituals
1. Write down your happy thoughts/ things you’re grateful for EVERYDAY
2. Self massage- use massage balls, foam rollers- focus on trigger points in the feet, hands, neck shoulders and hips
3. Eat a wide variety of better quality food than you currently do (how often do you eat the same vegies and proteins in the week? Try game meats for added minerals, fermented vegies for probiotic benefits and a variety of carbohydrates rather than wheat based ones)
4. Get more fresh air throughout your day- make sure you get out of the office during the day AT LEAST once
5. Laugh more- like a happy Buddha: surround yourself with people that make you laugh
6. Find a healthy way to let the steam out (without alcohol); Try a dip in a cold pool or ocean … even in the cooler weather… all the swimmers in their 80’s that get out of the water as we finish training seem pretty happy!
7. Get a pet and spend quality time with it: nothing makes you happier than walking in the house after a long day to the wagging tail of your best K9 friend
8. Drink more water than you think you should; 2 litres daily at a bare minimum. You will be amazed at how you will start to feel in the afternoons with a consistent habit
9. BREATHE! And if you don’t know how to Learn! Try yoga or meditation classes
