At Narrabeen, we are more than just a bootcamp or outdoor fitness group.  We are about putting FUN into fitness.  We know that fitness needs to be more than just losing weight – in our opinion that’s short term.  It’s about friendships, feeling good on the inside as well as the outside.  It’s a journey that our group will be on together.

We don’t believe in ego’s; everyone is equal. Our philosophy is all about community and companionship. Together we can achieve realistic goals, big & small.

Strong is the new skinny.  Being fit is our friend!

We love all types of training and believe that strength training changes bodies for the better.  Our other key ingredient to getting results is VARIETY.  Each workout is guaranteed to be different.  Why?  It means your body will always change for the better plus you will learn something new and never be bored.

 

Outdoor Group Training

Variety is the key to results, loving your training and building the habit. Just look at what the research says.

We have been doing it that way since 2001 when we launched evolution so you could say we are ahead of the curve.

That is why we are the best option when it comes to sustainable effective training.

We give you loads of different sessions for your strength,  body-mind and cardio training.

Think power ropes, dumbbells, sprint sessions, medicine balls, kettle-bells, trail runs, yoga, Pilates, sand dunes, kayaking, boxing and barbells.

Narrabeen Beach is one of Australia's iconic surfing and swimming beaches. Over three kilometres of sand stretch from Long Reef in the south to the Narrabeen Lagoon entrance in the north, with four surf lifesaving clubs along the beach.  With all the beauty that the northern beaches has to offer it really is the people with the their easy going vibe that make it the place to be. They have their own slang, their own fashion trends, and know that water views mean nothing unless you can actually see the surf breaking.  For this reason it’s often referred to as ‘insular peninsular’.

As well as this we use other nearby locations through the week to add variety of location, views and terrain to an already varied timetable of activities

    Bernie Clarke and Carolyn Bradley

    Carolyn and Bernie or C and B.  Many have said we are complete opposites.  Carolyn has 20 years experience in strength training and more recently Crossfit.  Bernie has  played representative touch football and has experience cardio and agility. Together we are ying and yang but a combination that  brings the best out in each other and in our clients!

    A little bit about Bern and Carolyn

    Two friends in fitness who met 3 years ago.  We had both plateaued  and wanted that extra push that a trainer could provide. We appointed a trainer and never looked back.  We encouraged each other to achieve our personal goals.  We learnt that motivation is the key ingredient to staying on track. We loved training because it was fun!

    We both believe that you’re never too old to live a dream.  Therefore we are creating something that we believe in. We both have spent years in the gym and realise that there’s nothing better than being outdoors where nature intended. The smell of the ocean breeze, the feel of sand and soft grass under our feet  is more welcome than any stinky Gym mat.

I have always been quite active, however since coming to evo I have noticed an increase in my fitness and core strength. This has reflected in my performance in my netball and soccer games. I love feeling healthy & strong.

The early morning start and an intense workout prior to work has now become part of my working week. There is a great energy and camaraderie within the group with all degrees of fitness and ability catered for. The rotating timetable of activities and drills ensures that training is never boring and helps in providing an all over work out.

Motivation was low at my local gym, I wanted to try something different and evo offered a varied and balanced training programme to get me motivated again and now I’m hooked! John makes you accountable for what sessions you attend. Evolution is relatively priced, easy going and friendly as well as being committed to working hard to achieve our personal goals. The sessions are split into two groups focusing on several different exercises, pending that day over a 4 week timetable, then you swap half way through. This was perfect for me as it broke up the session, focusing on different areas of your body which went quite quickly.

I was motivated by the "evolution starts at 6am" motto - it's the best time of the day and I was looking for a fun group of people to enjoy it with...as well as get fit, of course! evo gives me lots of variety, it's a great crew & great trainers.  In my first 3 months of training I thought it would be mainly the same things over and over, but it is actually a great mix & lots of different exercises which keeps me motivated & on my toes.

Training with Evolution was such a wake-up call – I hadn’t realised how low intensity my workout used to be.
